Hello, welcome to Like the Dawn!
My name is Leah I love Jesus, people, coffee, weddings, my family, friends, my church, travel and the world around me.
Currently in my first year of university studying Social Justice and Politics & International Relations. I currently reside in the most isolated city on earth Perth, Western Australia (google it if you don’t believe me hahah) with my family after emigrating from South Africa in 2009.
I have a heart for social justice, the mission field, young people and for those who are enslaved by human trafficking. I hope to one day make a positive impact in ending modern day slavery. As well as to encourage young people to become passionate and active in fighting the many injustices that are taking place in society.
You can find out more about human trafficking here and how you can help make a positive difference in the fight against this nefarious crime.
I have restless feet and an incurable wanderlust to travel the world my Maker has created.
Through the post of Like the Dawn I hope you find inspiration, laughter and light. As I share my thoughts, experiences, adventures, hopes and dreams with you.
“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free
and break every yoke?
Is it not to share your food with the hungry
and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—
when you see the naked, to clothe them,
and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
Then your light will break forth like the dawn,”
– Isaiah 58v6-8
